Priyashalini Balasubramaniam

Counselor & Psychotherapist

PG Diploma, Counselling & Psychotherapy
M.Sc., Counselling Psychology
M.Sc., Exercise Physiology & Nutrition

Priyashalini is the founder and lead therapist behind Blooming Crescent Therapy. Her work is rooted in an appreciation for the stories people carry, the patterns that shape them and the resilience people draw upon as they navigate life’s challenges.

Through both personal and professional experiences, her approach has come to value the importance of being witnessed, having one’s story honoured and creating space for healing, self-compassion and meaningful growth.

How we work

Our approach is grounded in the understanding that experiences, relationships and environments shape how people feel, connect and navigate the world. With training in psychology, psychotherapy and physiology & nutrition, we bring an integrative perspective to understanding the unique stories and challenges people carry.

Drawing from Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Attachment-Based approaches, Trauma-Informed Care, Solution-Focused Therapy, Clinical Hypnosis, Somatic practices and Mindfulness-Based approaches, we tailor therapy to each individual’s needs, goals and life context.

Who we work with

We work with adolescents and adults, ages 13–60.
A warm, LGBTQIA+ inclusive and non-judgmental space.

If there’s something you’d like to change, understand or navigate differently, therapy can offer a space to pause, reflect and explore a way forward. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin, curiosity is enough.
Therapy can be helpful when there’s a willingness to explore, reflect and work towards the changes you hope to create. Through both personal and professional experience, we’ve seen therapy create meaningful and lasting change in people’s lives.
Some concerns may benefit from short-term support, while others may call for a longer therapeutic journey. We’ll regularly review your goals together and work at a pace that feels right for you.
Yes. Our experiences often shape how we think, feel, relate and respond to the world around us. Therapy offers an opportunity to understand these patterns with compassion, process what has been carried for a long time and gradually create new ways of responding that feel more aligned with the life you want to build.
